I've known a few Iranians over the years – good people, cultured and humorous, now despairing of what's become of their country. They'll prevail eventually, but at a terrible cost.
I feel the same way as you. When there is real tyranny and genocide happening the “moral left” are silent. The truth is that the left do not care. They have no morals and no beliefs, they are just indoctrinated useful idiots for the Islamic regime that wish to flood our country with migrants with nothing to offer but hatred and violence, raping and murdering our girls and women whilst our establishment covers it up all in the name of diversity and of it being our strength. I have had many Persian friends over the years who are intelligent, cultured, educated and kind and generous people. They have had to flee their country and the tyrannical regime or else lose their lives. In doing so they have often left all that they owned and loved behind them. These people are the kind of migrants no one is unhappy to welcome. They have much to offer and they do indeed give back. I do not want to hear another word about Gaza and the evil terrorists that hail from there. Thank God for Israel or the Middle East would be a God forsaken place entirely. I pray daily for the people of Iran to overthrow the regime and dispose of the despots. They deserve to live in peace and without fear on their land.
Your words are far more powerful than a rant and reading them again fills me with anger …against the ideology which creates such horror and the useful idiots on the left who mistakenly believe that they have the moral high ground.

I wish you were running the Government in the UK, rather than the Party Labour, who actually seem to revel in the moral weakness and sheer stupidity you describe. Much to my deep shame, Jews here now live in fear, whilst pro-Palestine supporters are allowed to rage through our streets. As you say, the silence on Iran says everything.
It all makes sense, when you realize that progressivism is a totalitarian cult.
While some of us demonstrate and even fight for freedom, progressives demonstrate and fight for totalitarianism.
Thus, progressives identify with the Iranian regime, while despising Trump. BTW, back before WWII, the Iranian regime of the time backed Hitler. After all, they both wanted to exterminate jews.
I've met so many Iranians over the years, mostly Christian converts and Kurds. They are a wonderful people - cultured, thoughtful, community-minded. What is happening right now breaks my heart.

They don't really care about George Floyd, Gaza, or illegal aliens.
The so-called protest movement in this Country isn't about whatever it is they're protesting at the moment. The protesters are just useful idiots whose job is to stir up discord, conflict and strife. They're financed by a hidden cabal of foreign governments and left wing NGOs and billionaires who are actively working to overthrow our system of government and cause the downfall of the United States.
Enemies like Red China are actively engaged in a war with the US and our leaders and people don't even recognize it.
We continue to circle the woke wagon shooting it with thousands of left hypocrisy arrows.
The unfortunate telegraphed indication from this is that shooters, especially those of us embedded within the media chattering class, believe that there are still rational people out there reading our stuff that need more convincing. However, the sad truth is that continued evidence is useless. The base responsible for the hypocrisy know they are hypocrites and do not care. The base opposed to the hypocrites know that those they oppose are hypocrites and there is no longer any need to see more evidence. The remaining few people uniformed and potentially swayed by more evidence... well that cohort is so small and politically insignificant to not warrant any energy.
In other words, if we asked ourselves this question and answered honestly:
Are we really surprised that the left and their media is not spending any time supporting the Iran protests?
Of course we would answer a resounding "NO"
Those infected with the woke parasitic mind virus of feminized collectivism are also generally people afflicted with the dark triad personality traits. They are in fact the cohort of our population that, even with a constant stream of fear and anxiety-mitigating care-assurance, have tenuous mental health stability at best. But throw in a 24x7x365 social media matrix stream plugged into their easily upset heads... and all heal has broken loose.
In our history of a well-functioning system, the stable, pragmatic, rational, critical-thinking people with demonstrated productive capability rose to the top and cared for the unstable, irrational, emotional, sick and crazy people that demonstrated a lot of difficulty maintaining a productive life. This has been flipped. It has been flipped because of a one-in-a-history-of-human test to advance females to the dominate position in our socioeconomic system.
The inmates are running the asylum. The Democrat party and all its apparatus are a safe space for people that are not mentally stable.
And so, we should not keep up being surprised that their behavior isn't rational.
What we should be writing about is how to get these nutbirds out of positions of power and influence and back to the cognitive behavior therapy they need to barely function.
